Ecliptic Guest Artist Info

If you are interested in becoming a guest artist (GA) for the Ecliptic to make official adoptable designs, you may contact Auspice at any time. However, it is up to them whether or not they accept, which may depend on quality of work, number of active guest artists, and other factors. 

Requirements

• In order to be eligible to make adopts for any species of the Ecliptic world, you must have an approved MYO or import designed by you for that species. 

  • For instance, you need an approved Oscuraph MYO to sell Oscuraph designs, but you would not be permitted to sell Lumion designs with just that. 

• You should be at least somewhat active in the species, whether engaging with discussion, developing characters, completing prompts, etc. 

• You must have been in the Auspicium server for at least three months. 

• Please contact Auspice with examples of relevant design work to be considered. (If you have Ecliptic MYOs or designs you've made for others, these are most relevant. You can also submit unofficial concepts you have for MYOs and adopts.) 

Guidelines

• Guest artist status is permanent unless there are violations of the guidelines, and only so long as the guest artist is a member of the Auspicium Discord server. If the artist leaves the server or becomes inactive, Auspice may remove GA status with or without notification. 

• A guest artist can make up to one batch a month, typically 3-5 designs each. The timing is counted from when the batch opens for sale. 

• A guest artist cannot make additional batches if 2 or more of their designs remain unsold. 

  • Guest artists can choose to raffle their designs at any time.

  • Guest artists can claim the designs for themselves with a small ML processing fee (6 USD) to Auspice if they have not been claimed for two or more months. 

• Guest artist adopts will be advertised in the #adopt-postings channel of the server with a ping. 

Finances

• A guest artist can price their designs however they like, and can accept any currency as well as trades. However, the fees to Auspice must still be paid, typically in USD. 

• The guest artist must pay a percentage of the sale price of the design to Auspice within one month of sale. If multiple designs are sold, the fees can be paid together.  

  • For Angels and Demons, the fee is 10%. 

  • For Oscuraphim and Lumions, the fee is 15%. 

Process

If  you are an active guest artist, you may send a message in the #guest-artist-lounge channel to begin the process. You may ping Auspice if you like. Please state how many adopts you would like to make, and what species you would like them to be. If it is acceptable, Auspice will reply with approval. After that, you may proceed. 

While making your designs, you can send WIPs in #guest-artist-lounge to check with Auspice. 

Please follow the MYO process to upload your designs to Toyhou.se, though you can add a note along the lines of "Guest Artist Adopt, Pending Approval" and any planned pricing at the top. You can keep the characters private or make them public during this phase. 

Once you are done, send a message in #guest-artist-lounge with links to all the designs. Auspice will approve or request modifications. If they approve, they will add the designs to the Masterlist. If you wish, they can make the ping and announcement in the #adopt-postings channel right away, or you can delay (such as if you want to make a specific advertising post or other preparations). 

When designs are sold, you may notify Auspice in #guest-artist-lounge or Ecliptic ML Submissions with the sale price.
