"Starfall" refers to the universe from which Celeians originate. The lore focuses on a particular planet, Avelor, where a Celeian and a human first made contact with each other in the Starfall universe. 

Avelor | Planet

Avelor is one of the first planets in a particular universe to develop intelligent life, following an evolutionary path similar to Earth. That path shifted, however, in 1098 PD (PD meaning Primum Documentum, "First Documentation") when a Celeian, later known as Ceilya, descended from the stars and formed a partnership with the human who caught them. 

Ceilya | Celeian

The first Celeian to make official contact with Avelor's civilization. She chose to take a humanoid form after connecting with Jaece and has been instrumental in bridging the gap between humans and Celeians. Her presence and amplified celestial energy drew other Celeians to Avelor.

Jaece Levye | Human

The human who first encountered Ceilya and became her partner in transforming Avelor. Their partnership formed the foundation of Starbridge Technologies. Thanks to exposure to Ceilya's celestial energy, Jaece's lifespan was significantly extended. They took on a number of different names and identities throughout the years. 

Starbridge Technologies | Organization

A corporation that revolutionized Avelorian society through the integration of celestial energy into technology. While maintaining its corporate structure rather than becoming a formal government, Starbridge gained significant influence by providing essential infrastructure and services worldwide. The company maintains a generally benevolent mission while acknowledging and addressing internal challenges.

Pre-Contact Era (Before 1098 PD)

The universe was sparsely populated by wandering Celeians, most existing in an instinctive state without complex language or culture. Some might cross into other dimensions without being fully aware of doing so. 

On Avelor, human civilization developed naturally, reaching an early industrial age by 1098 PD.

Starfall Era (1098-1500 PD)

This period began when Ceilya crash-landed on Avelor and was caught by Jaece, a human who initially mistook her for a wishing star. Their partnership led to the formation of Starbridge Technologies, a company that would revolutionize human society through the subtle integration of celestial energy into technological advances. Jaece remained the leader of Starbridge for a long time but took on a number of different names, with their life extended thanks to Ceilya's power. 

During this time, other Celeians were drawn to Avelor by Ceilya's amplified celestial energy. Some remained hidden in society, while others were discovered by Starbridge and either recruited or advised to maintain temporary secrecy. Some Celeians formed independent partnerships with humans or created small communities among themselves.

Over the years, Starbridge gained enough power and influence to hold sway over all governments of the world, having a near-monopoly on advanced celestial technology. Though other places may have started developing celestial technologies, Starbridge would often contact them to merge their efforts, and Starbridge's advancements were superior to any other developments on the planet. 

Development Ideas: 

• You can explore themes of secrecy among humans, discovery such as by an individual or by Starbridge, and partnerships between Celeians and humans or animals. 

• Celeians would be drawn to celestial technology but might not fully understand why; humans might find the technology amazing but baffling. You can explore these reactions. 

• Consider the challenges faced by hidden Celeians and their allies/partners/companions. If the first creature they came in contact with was non-human, they might have a non-human primary form and think more from the perspective of, say, animals even after acquiring human knowledge and intelligence. 

• Oversight was limited during this period, allowing for both positive and negative relationships in Starbridge and out in the world. Celeians may immediately acquire facts and other "knowledge" easily, but their emotional skills vary from individual to individual. 

Revelation Era (1500-1550 PD)

After transforming Avelor into a technological haven with achievements including advanced medical care, life extension, teleportation, and sustainable energy, Ceilya and Jaece revealed the truth about Celeians to the world. This disclosure coincided with Starbridge's announcement of their space travel initiative. The revelation sparked both controversy and excitement, leading to increased collaboration between humans and Celeians.

Development Ideas: 

• You can consider the societal reactions to the existence of Celeians — some accepted them easily, some might be in denial, some might grow greedy and covet their power. 

• You can explore stories of Celeians' process of revealing themselves and integrating into society.

• Consider how the establishment of new rights, protocols, and protections might affect your characters. 

• You can have your characters become involved in the space program, assisting with anything from engineering, celestial energy harnessing, public relations, etc. 

Voyage Era (1550 PD onward)

Avelor became a spacefaring civilization through the combined efforts of humans and Celeians, largely led by Starbridge. From there, they made contact with other civilizations—some with Celeian presence, some without. Trade was established with some other planets, with Avelor aiming for peace but defending against any threats with the help of Celeians. 

While Avelor is the most advanced society in this universe (though others may come close), at one point, they began voyages to other dimensions as well, allowing them to make contact with even more advanced civilizations. 

The "present" can be considered the same number as our year plus 1000—that is, 2025 CE for us would be 3025 PD in this universe. 

Development Ideas: 

• You can develop stories about first contact with other civilizations, whether in this dimension or a different one. If your characters originate from another world/dimension, this is when you can make contact with the Avelor society. 

• You can explore the dynamics of remote Starbridge branches. There is less cultural unity, so you can have whatever dynamics you like. 

• Consider how Celeian-human relationships evolved with greater freedom.

1098 PD approximately aligned with Earth's 1800s-1900s industrial development, but with distinct cultural differences—namely, cultural gender differences were not as significant, with men and women both generally accepted in any position, and those of non-binary or other genders were more normalized. Smaller societies or those with less contact with the rest of the world may have other cultural characteristics, however. 

Early global trade and communication networks were establishing connections between different cultures, though smaller societies or those with less contact with the rest of the world maintained their own distinct characteristics. Cities featured a mix of traditional architecture and newer industrial developments. The clothing of the time often blended practicality with aesthetics, with wealthier individuals emphasizing more aesthetics over practicality in social outfits, though having practical clothing for walks, work, and outdoor activities was typical. Education in this era was centered around universities, with students having opportunities to seek multiple disciplines. 

Different cultures around the world had different aesthetics, however; you are welcome to make up your own culture, with its distinct norms and aesthetics, including architecture and fashion styles. 

As the years went by, architecture and fashion became more globalized and individualized at the same time. By the 1200s, clothing was much more modern and practical, though many had the means to customize their clothing, allowing them to wear whatever they liked; fashion evolved to accommodate new materials and technological conveniences. Architecture began incorporating celestial energy infrastructure, and global communication became faster and more accessible. While globalization increased, local traditions adapted rather than disappeared.

By the 1500s, clothing that combined minimalism, comfort, practicality, and aesthetics were fairly popular; many had layered clothing that had less practical but more aesthetic outer layers with more comfortable, simple layers within. Crystals that contained celestial energy were often incorporated into outfits, functioning as both a fashion statement and a charger for some devices that used celestial energy. Architecture integrated advanced technology while preserving aesthetic diversity. 

Technology: Technology in later eras should feel advanced but connected to celestial energy and magic. There are all sorts of things celestial technology (and magitechnology) can accomplish, both in terms of daily conveniences and massive technological marvels—if you are unsure, feel free to ask Auspice. Note that during the Starfall era, technological advancement was gradual to avoid shock. 

Relationships: Celeians often find organic sentient beings (and advanced technology) to be stimulating and are naturally drawn to them. Relationships between Celeians and humans, Celeians and other creatures, and Celeians with each other can vary greatly, just as human relationships can vary. Celeians might feel a bond with the first sentient being they made contact with, which is also usually the entity that most strongly shapes their appearance and helps them transition to Main Sequence; they might decide to remain beside that entity and even extend their life, or part ways without any concerns. 

Starbridge Technologies: The company is largely a positive, benevolent force. However, as it grew larger, room for all sorts of things grew as well. There are different departments handling various affairs and a number of branches across the world, extending their reach. 

World Development: Feel free to develop new locations and situations within the established lore, whether on Avelor or a different planet. You are welcome to explore alternate timelines and alternate universes as well. 

Other Dimensions: Remember that Celeians can traverse dimensions, allowing for a fair amount of creative freedom. Different dimensions might have different rules or societies.
